What's new

Recent features and improvements, newest first.

  1. Training load in the calendar

The calendar now shows training load (TL) much clearer.

    • Completed activities show their real TL (TL 85, estimates as TL ~85); planned workouts show a dashed ~TL 80 planned.
    • Day totals of finished days use only what you actually did; today shows done + remaining plan.
    • The week summary has a new TL bar (done vs planned), next to the time bar.
    Open the calendar
  2. Over-plan bars and month summary in the calendar

    The calendar got two upgrades.

    • The week time and TL bars now show when you went over plan: a tick marks the plan and the extra is an amber striped segment with a +N% over label.
    • A new month summary in the header shows time, distance, activities, TL and planned vs done for the displayed month.
    Open the calendar
  3. The VelocityStack blog is open

There is now a plain journal at /blog, written by the person who builds VelocityStack. The first post is "Why I built Velocity Stack (it started with a spreadsheet)".

    • New posts also show up in your activity feed, placed by their publish date.
    • There is an RSS feed at /blog/rss.xml if you prefer a reader.
    Read the first post
  4. Respect now sits next to the date, with levels

Respect is now a glass tile right next to the activity date, on the activity page and in the feed. It shows the number of respects with the word "Respect", plus a level word that climbs as one activity collects more: Nod, Props, Solid, Strong, Beast, Machine, Legend, Mythic, Immortal and Godlike.

  5. Give a ride some respect

You can now tap Respect on any activity you can see, a quick +1 without writing a comment. Tap again to take it back.

    • The count shows on the activity and in the feed; owners also see who gave respect.
    • You get one notification per activity ("ann and 3 others gave respect"), not one per tap.
    • In Settings you can turn respect notifications off, or stop accepting respect on your activities.
  6. Respect is easier to spot

On an activity page, Respect is now a bold orange button right below the title, full-width on mobile. After you tap it, it turns into Respected with a check. Read-only viewers see a clearer "3 respects" badge. In the feed, the Respect button is also bigger and easier to tap, with the label shown on wider screens.

  7. Pop-up notifications on your phone or computer

When Velocity Stack is installed as an app, new notifications (followers, comments, mentions, coaching) can now pop up like any other system notification, even when the app is closed.

    • Turn it on per device in Settings; your browser asks for permission only then.
    • On iPhone/iPad, first add Velocity Stack to your Home Screen (iOS 16.4+).
    • Use "Send test notification" to check it works.
    Turn on in Settings
  8. Rider telemetry remembers your place

Going back from an activity now returns you to the tab you came from (My sessions or Following) and to the same spot in the feed, even if you had scrolled far into the past.

  9. Blog posts get covers, an avatar and a share button

Blog posts now show the author's real profile picture, a bolder generated cover (also used for sharing) in the feed and on the post, and a share button (top and bottom) with Copy link, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Reddit and Email.

    See the first post
  10. Default avatars are easier to read

The default initials avatar now has a solid background, so the letters stay readable in the light theme with glass effects on. The Respect tile on feed cards also fits its level word without spilling over the hero stats.

  11. Velodrome pages are easier to read

The velodrome directory and track pages have larger, higher-contrast text and clearer layouts.

    • Search, filter and sort velodromes with labelled controls, with a map that no longer dominates small screens.
    • Track cards and pages show length, surface, type and altitude as clear label and value pairs.
    Browse velodromes
  12. Even more velodrome details filled in

We added more websites, booking and pricing links, operators and opening hours to velodromes, including Lee Valley VeloPark, where the venue's own pages confirm the details. Every added value was independently re-checked.

    Browse velodromes
  13. Velodrome details now reliably filled in

The researched velodrome details (website, operator, opening hours and price range) are now loaded in smaller, safer steps, so a single track that cannot be matched no longer holds the rest back.

    Browse velodromes
  14. Websites, operators and prices added to more velodromes

We researched official sources for the velodromes in our database and filled in websites, booking and pricing links, operators, opening years and, where clearly stated, hours and prices. Every value was independently re-checked, and anything uncertain was left out.

    Browse velodromes
  15. More details on velodrome pages

Velodrome pages can now show the operator, opening hours, a rough price range, booking links and whether a track is closed, each checked against official sources and re-verified every quarter.

    • Prices are a rough guide only, so check the venue's site before you go.
    Browse velodromes
  16. You now control cookies

VelocityStack now asks before using analytics or marketing cookies. Accept, reject or customize, and nothing optional loads until you choose.

    • Change or withdraw your choice any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
    Read the cookie list
  17. Connect third-party apps to your account

Apps that have no .fit export can now send your rides to Velocity Stack directly, after you allow it.

    • Approve an app on a Velocity Stack consent screen; it can only upload rides (and read your FTP and weight if you let it).
    • Uploaded rides get the same analysis, workload and fun names as rides from other sources, and are checked against duplicates.
    • See your connected apps on the Connections page and disconnect any of them with one click.
    • Developers can register an app at /developers.
    Open Connections
  18. Threshold test templates estimate FTP and LT1/LT2

New system templates evaluate threshold tests and propose your FTP and lactate thresholds (power and heart rate): FTP 20 min and 8 min tests, a ramp test, a 30 min LT2 / LTHR test and a steady-state LT1 test.

    • Every estimate shows its protocol, source window, assumptions and a confidence note, and warns when a test does not look maximal.
    • Build your own with the new estimated_ftp, estimated_lt2_power, estimated_lt2_hr, estimated_lt1_power and estimated_lt1_hr metrics.
    Template syntax guide
  19. A real exercise list for gym sessions

Gym sessions now use a shared exercise list instead of free typing. Search by name or by other names (try "legpress"), pick several exercises at once, and your most recent ones come first. No more typos, and lunges and other one-side-at-a-time exercises are counted correctly.

Box jumps and other jumps are logged in centimetres, with optional added weight. Missing an exercise? Suggest it: you can use it right away, and once the admin approves it everyone gets it. Your load estimates use the list for better accuracy and older sessions are matched automatically.

    Log a gym session
  20. Coaches can apply threshold estimates to a rider

An active coach can now review a rider's threshold test estimates on the rider's activity and apply FTP / LT1 / LT2 to the rider's history.

    • Applied entries show "From template estimate" with a link to the activity, and who set them; the rider is notified as for other coach edits.
    • Only the rider and their active coach can write; nothing is applied automatically.
    Template syntax guide
  21. Calendar header stays in view on desktop

On desktop, the calendar's month controls (back, Today, forward), month title and weekday labels now stay pinned while you scroll through the month, so you always know where you are.

    Open calendar
  22. Apply threshold estimates to your profile

Threshold test runs now show a review card on the activity: each estimate next to your current FTP / LT1 / LT2, with the difference, assumptions and warnings.

    • Edit any value, then apply it to your FTP or lactate threshold history, effective on the activity date. Nothing is applied automatically.
    • If an entry already exists on that date you are asked before it is replaced.
    Template syntax guide
  23. Plan runs and link them to your run activities

Planned workouts now have a Run discipline. Run activities link only to Run workouts, and Run workouts only to runs.

Planned a run as "Other" before? Open the workout, change the discipline to Run, then link your run.

    Open the calendar
  24. Gym sessions now have a training load

Gym sessions with recorded sets now get an estimated training load, based on how hard and how explosive your exercises were (no effort rating needed). Open a gym session and tap How this was estimated to see the details.

The load shows on the calendar and counts in Fitness, fatigue & form as an estimate. Prefer to keep fitness to rides and runs? Turn off Include gym sessions in fitness in Settings. Your coach sees your choice and the same breakdown.

    Open Fitness
  25. Gym sessions now have a summary card

Gym sessions no longer show an empty card in your feed. The card now shows time, exercises, sets and total volume (in kg, or tonnes for big sessions), plus kcal and average heart rate when your session has them.

  26. Decimals now work in gym sessions

Mean and peak velocity (like 0.19 m/s), RPE, RIR and weight now accept decimals while you type. Both . and , work as the decimal separator, and out-of-range values show a clear message.

    Open Activities
  27. Don't like the name? Reroll it

Every activity now has a Reroll name button on its detail page. Press it for a fresh funny name that fits your ride, run or gym session, as often as you like, even if you renamed it before. The new name is kept, so syncs never change it.

    Open Activities
  28. Your rides, runs and gym sessions get names with personality

New imports from Strava, Wahoo, Intervals.icu, Garmin and file uploads no longer arrive as "Morning Ride" or "Garmin Sync". If the source only gave a generic name, we now pick a funny one that fits the session and the time of day, like "Sunrise Sufferfest: Hill Grudge" or "Lunch Break Heist: Rack Attack". Rides, MTB, gravel, e-bike, runs and gym sessions each have their own big pool, and we avoid repeating your recent names. Names you or your source chose are never replaced, and once you rename an activity it stays yours. Existing activities are not renamed.

    Open Activities
  29. Automatic workout sending survives reconnecting

Reconnecting Intervals.icu no longer switches off automatic sending of planned workouts, and Sync now sends your workouts to Garmin, Wahoo and Intervals.icu even when the import itself has to wait for its cooldown.

    Open Connections
  30. Sync now also sends your planned workouts

Sync now on Garmin, Wahoo and Intervals.icu now also sends your upcoming planned workouts to that platform, even if automatic sending is off. Only new or changed workouts are sent, and the result is shown next to the import summary.

    Open Connections
  31. Garmin integration and new activity types

Garmin is here. Connect your Garmin account on the Connections page, where your sources now appear in order of preference: Garmin, Wahoo, SRM, Intervals.icu and Strava.

    • New rides and gym sessions you record after connecting are imported automatically. Garmin only sends new activities, so use Intervals.icu or a .fit upload for your history.
    • Send planned workouts to Garmin Connect, by hand from the workout dialog or automatically.

More activity types, from every source. Mountain bike, gravel, e-bike, indoor and virtual rides, and runs (including trail and treadmill) now sync from Garmin, Strava, Wahoo, Intervals.icu and .fit uploads.

    • They count towards your fitness, fatigue and form. Run load is estimated from heart rate.
    • Each type has its own icon in the calendar and activity feed.
    Open Connections
  32. Track sessions stand out from road rides

Sessions recorded at a velodrome now show as "Track" (with the velodrome icon and an amber colour) on your calendar, in the feed, in search and on the activity page. They are still counted and analysed exactly like rides.

  33. What's new dates corrected

Some entries on the What's new page were dated months in the future. They now show their real dates. If a few recent entries show up again in the login popup, that is just this clean-up.

    See what's new
  34. Calendar opens on today

The calendar now scrolls to today when you open it, so you no longer land at the start of a long month. The Today button jumps back and scrolls there too.

    Open the calendar
  35. Analysis templates explained on the track page

The public track page now explains analysis templates: describe a session once, find every rep on a ride and compare all your template runs.

    • Examples, how reps are found, and how riders and coaches use templates.
    See the track page
  36. Load estimates for LT, zone and watt workouts

Planned workouts with %LT1 / %LT2 targets, power zones (Z1-Z6) or absolute watts now show a "~TL" load estimate on the calendar and in the workout dialog, and count in the fitness forecast instead of being listed as "no estimate".

    • Uses the rider's FTP, lactate thresholds and zones for that day. Without lactate thresholds it assumes LT1 = 75% and LT2 = 100% of FTP (marked with *).
    • Heart-rate, cadence and speed targets still give no estimate.
    Open the calendar
  37. Cleaner, consistent chart tooltips

Hovering any chart now shows the same compact tooltip that matches the app's look, and it stays readable in light, dark and glass modes. The power profile radar finally shows its labels clearly.

  38. Velodrome map markers now have descriptive alt text

Each marker on the velodromes map is now labelled with the track name, which helps screen readers and search engines.

Other decorative images and map tiles also carry alt text now.

    Open the velodromes map
  39. Approved velodrome edits show up faster

Approved velodrome suggestions, such as changing a track from Outdoor to Indoor, now appear on the velodrome pages within about a minute instead of up to an hour.

The suggestion form also warns when a wooden track is marked Outdoor.

    Browse velodromes
  40. Shorter page titles for search

VelocityStack page titles are now 60 characters or less so they show in full in search results. Velodrome pages use "<Track> velodrome, <Country>", with length, surface and location in the heading and description.

  41. Public velodrome directory and How it works page

The velodrome directory is now public, with a page for every track showing length, surface, location and the disciplines that fit it. A new How it works page explains what VelocityStack measures and how it compares with TrainingPeaks and Strava.

    Browse velodromes
  42. Gear Architect and Pursuit Strategist work without an account

Both calculators are now open to everyone, no login needed. Share them with a teammate or coach.

    • Gear Architect: gear inches, ratio and speed at cadence.
    • Pursuit Strategist: a target time turned into lap-by-lap splits.

A free account is still required for the full app: it saves your gear, home track and records.

Visitors without an account now also keep the full menu on public pages like Velodromes; items that need a free account are marked with a lock.

The login page now links to both calculators too.

    Open the Pursuit Strategist
  43. Send up to 10 suggestions per hour

You can now submit up to 10 suggestions per rolling hour (previously 5), which makes fixing several velodromes in one go easier.

  44. Faster search engine indexing

Public pages are now announced to search engines via IndexNow, so new velodromes show up sooner.

  45. Forecast your form from planned workouts

The Fitness page (and the coach's athlete Fitness tab) can now project fitness, fatigue and form 2 to 8 weeks ahead from your planned workouts, shown as dashed lines.

    • Races on the chart show the projected form on race day, and calendar race chips show it too.
    • Unplanned days, skipped workouts and workouts without a load estimate count as zero training; a note tells you when the forecast is partial.
    Open Fitness
  46. Clearer comment notifications for coaches

When an athlete you coach gets a comment, your notification and email now say so ("Ann (your athlete) commented on their activity") instead of "an activity you follow".

  47. Aluminium is now a track surface

Velodromes can now have an Aluminium surface, such as VeloDome Tucson. Pick it when suggesting a track, or filter the velodrome list by it.

Surface choices now come from a central list, so new surface types will appear automatically.

    Browse velodromes
  48. New overview page for track riders and coaches

There is a new public page that shows what VelocityStack does for track cycling: gear per ride, template analysis on up to 50 rides, race tagging and coaching with the rider's approval.

Share it with a teammate or coach who is not on VelocityStack yet.

    Open the overview
  49. Gym sessions are now imported

Strength and gym sessions now come in from Intervals.icu, Strava, Wahoo and .fit uploads (single or bulk), with duration, heart rate and calories. They show in your feed and calendar and can complete planned gym workouts, but never count toward ride stats, fitness or training load. Exercises and sets are coming next.

  50. Gym sessions are no longer shown as rides

Gym (strength) sessions now show as "Gym" on your calendar, in the feed and in search, instead of "Ride". They are also left out of ride counts, such as your public ride count and your coach's weekly ride totals, and can't be linked to race entries or ride workouts.

  51. Gym sessions now show exercises and sets

Gym sessions imported from a .fit file (upload, bulk, Intervals.icu or Wahoo) now keep their exercises, sets, reps, weights and rest, shown on the activity page next to your heart rate. Sources without set data, like Strava, still give duration, heart rate and calories. Earlier gym sessions from your connected accounts are imported again over the next syncs, without touching your rides.

  52. Log and edit gym sessions

You can now create a gym session by hand ("+ Log gym session" in your feed) and edit imported ones: add, remove, reorder and rename exercises, and set reps, weight (kg or lb), RPE (with optional RIR), tempo, set type (warm-up, working, drop, failure), rest, side, bodyweight or assisted load and notes. Optional bar-velocity fields are available too.

    • Volume, best set and an estimated 1RM (Epley, an estimate) are calculated for you.
    • Edited sessions are never overwritten by re-imports.
    • Your coach can edit your sessions; their changes are labelled and recorded in your audit trail.
  53. Public session discovery removed

The Discover sessions tab on the Riders page is gone. Browsing other riders' public sessions was a privacy risk and rarely useful.

    • Find riders and Following work as before.
    • Older ?tab=discover links now open Find riders.
    Riders
  54. Consistent icons everywhere

Template run badges, comment counts, warnings, expand/collapse toggles and the support button now use the same VelocityStack icon set instead of mixed emoji and symbols.

  55. Tablets use the mobile layout, menu fixed

On tablets and narrow windows (up to 1023px) VelocityStack now uses the compact mobile layout: hamburger menu, slim top bar and the calendar as a stacked day list, so nothing is squeezed or overflows on an iPad in portrait.

The navigation menu also opens properly again when you tap the hamburger: it slides in above the dark overlay with all items visible, and closes when you tap the overlay, press Esc or pick a page.

  56. A proper front page for VelocityStack

VelocityStack now has a public landing page and better link previews when you share it, so new riders can find and understand it before signing up.

  57. PB Vault charts zoom in on your times

The time chart in PB Vault no longer starts at 0. The axis now zooms to your own range, so the difference between each PB is easy to see.

    PB Vault
  58. Top bar fits small phones

The top bar no longer overflows on narrow phone screens (360–420px): the Light/Dark toggle shows just its icon and the search box shrinks to make room, so Log Out and the other actions stay on screen.

  59. Install VelocityStack on your phone

VelocityStack can now be added to your iOS or Android home screen and opens like a native app.

  60. Calendar events are easier to read

Each event in the calendar now shows its name on its own line (up to two lines) instead of a truncated "Dráha Třeb…". A small label (Ride, Planned, Race, Note) sits above, and distance, duration and metric wrap onto extra lines instead of being cut off.

    Open the calendar
  61. Send planned workouts to Wahoo

With Wahoo connected, a planned ride can now be sent to your Wahoo calendar, including its intervals and power targets, so your ELEMNT can guide it. Send workouts one by one from the workout dialog, or turn on automatic sending on the Wahoo card. If you connected Wahoo before, reconnect it once to grant the new permission.

    Open connections
  62. Connect Wahoo directly

You can now connect Wahoo Cloud in your connection settings. Rides recorded on your Wahoo devices are imported with their full .fit data, and new rides arrive within moments. Intervals.icu stays the main platform: a ride that arrives from both is kept once.

    Open connections
  63. How to import rides from an SRM PC8

New help page: plug your SRM PowerControl 8 into your computer, copy the .fit files from SRM/Activities, and drop them into Import History. It also covers older PC5/6/7 units and .fit files from other devices. The guide is linked from the import dialog and the Help menu.

    Read the guide
  64. Intervals.icu rides arrive in seconds

Rides recorded in Intervals.icu now show up in Velocity Stack within seconds instead of waiting for the next scheduled sync.

    • If you change the permissions you granted on Intervals.icu, Settings asks you to reconnect.
    Connection settings
  65. Connect Intervals.icu in one click

Connecting Intervals.icu no longer needs an Athlete ID and API key: approve Velocity Stack on Intervals.icu and you are done.

    • Already connected with an API key? It keeps working, and Settings offers a one-click reconnect.
    • You can revoke access any time from your Intervals.icu settings.
    Connection settings
  66. Template statistics are easier to read

Template cards now list statistics in a single column, with values aligned as "avg / best" so they no longer wrap. Identical distance values are merged into one row.

    Open templates
  67. Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

We published our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. They explain what data we keep, how coaching sharing works and how to delete your data. Both are public and linked from the footer, login and register pages.

    Read the Privacy Policy
  68. Enlarge the activity graph

The activity graph on the activity page now has an Enlarge button that opens it in a large pop-over (full screen on phones). In the enlarged view you can drag to zoom into a range, zoom in/out and pan with buttons or the keyboard (arrow keys, + / −, 0 to reset), and use Reset zoom. The zoom stays in sync with the graph on the page.

  69. Continue with Google

You can now sign in or register with your Google account from the login and register pages. If you already have an account with the same verified email address, Google sign-in opens that account. Email and password keeps working as before.

    Open sign-in
  70. Activities link to your planned workout automatically

When a new ride arrives (upload or Strava / Intervals.icu sync) and you planned one workout for that day, it is now linked automatically and counts as completed.

    • If several workouts are planned that day, the best match (discipline, then duration) is used when it is clear; otherwise you still get the suggestion.
    • You see Linked automatically on the activity and in the planned workout, with Change and Unlink. After you unlink, that workout is never auto-linked again.
    • Only new activities are linked; existing ones are not changed.
    Open the calendar
  71. Rep-by-rep analysis of template runs

Template runs now show how every rep compares with a reference you choose: your previous run, your personal best, the median of your last 5 runs, or any past run.

    • Rep table with a dashed ghost line, fade curve, first-half vs second-half, worst rep, slope and consistency.
    • Flags for reps well below your median and for missing reps ("7 of 8 reps detected").
    • Heart-rate recovery between reps and a trend chart over all runs.
    • Coaches see the same views in athlete context. Older runs are refreshed in the background.
    Open templates
  72. Run a template on many activities at once

On the Templates page, use Run on activities… to analyse several rides with one template. Search activities by name, add up to 50 to the list and run them in one go, with progress and a summary of what worked, what had no matching efforts and what was skipped.

    • Activities that already have a run of that template are re-run (the result is replaced, no duplicates).
    • Coaches can do the same on an athlete's Templates page; those runs are marked as run by coach.
    Open templates
  73. Race activities stand out in the calendar

Activities tagged as a race now carry a 🏆 Race badge and an amber edge in the calendar, for you and for coaches viewing an athlete. The week summary also shows how many races were ridden.

    Open the calendar
  74. Race badge in activity feeds

Race activities now show the 🏆 Race badge in activity feeds too, including rider telemetry pages, the dashboard and coach athlete lists.

On narrow screens the week / fitness / power column now sits above the feed in a compact layout (smaller cards, no mini chart on phones) instead of being stuck below the endless feed.

    Browse riders
  75. Planned time in the week summary, and links that stick

The calendar's week summary now shows planned time next to the time you actually rode, with a progress bar. A + means some planned workouts have no computable duration.

    • Skipped workouts are left out; missed and completed ones count as planned.
    • A planned workout linked to a ride is no longer shown as *Missed* when the ride is later replaced by a better copy (e.g. from Intervals.icu). Linked workouts always show as completed, and you can still Unlink an activity in the workout dialog.
    Open the calendar
  76. Calendar on mobile now shows empty days

The compact calendar on phones now lists every day of the month, including days with nothing planned, so you can plan a workout, note or race on any day.

    Open the calendar
  77. Gear Architect shows your records and races

Pick a gear in Gear Architect and see your PB Vault records and race rides that used it, including gears used in ride segments, with date, event or venue, power and time. Activities now have a Race tag you (or your coach) can set; linking an activity to a calendar race tags it automatically. Unlinking only removes a tag that was added automatically.

    Open Gear Architect
  78. Fixed adding templates to favorites

Starring an analysis template from the template picker no longer fails, and any error is now shown instead of silently reverting.

    Open templates
  79. Fitness, fatigue and form

See how your training adds up. The new Fitness page and dashboard card show your Fitness (long-term load), Fatigue (short-term load) and Form (how fresh you are), with a chart and your calendar races marked.

    • Rides without power get a load estimated from heart rate (needs your lactate threshold heart rate); these are shown as hatched bars and never change your rides.
    • The first ~6 weeks show a "building baseline" note while the numbers settle.
    Open Fitness
  80. Collapsible template runs on activities

The Template Runs card on an activity can now be collapsed, and so can each run inside it.

    • With several runs, only the most recent starts open; the others show a one-line summary (result and verdict).
    • Whether the whole card is collapsed is remembered in this browser.
  81. Fitness and form for coached athletes

Coaches now see each athlete's Fitness, Fatigue and Form on the coach dashboard, with the weekly ramp and flags for very negative form, a ramp that is too fast, or a baseline still being built. The dashboard can be sorted by any of them.

    • Each athlete has a Fitness tab with the full chart, range selector and calendar races.
    • Values use the athlete's own FTP and heart rate thresholds, and only while the coaching relationship is active.
    Open the coach dashboard
  82. Consistent icons in the calendar and race badges

The calendar (workout status, notes, races, week summary, add buttons) and the Race badge now use the app's own icon set instead of generic emoji, so they look the same in light and dark themes.

    Open the calendar
  83. Search templates when running on many activities

Running a template on several activities now starts with the same searchable template picker as everywhere else: search by name, use favorites and recently used templates, and preview before you choose. It is available on your Templates page and, for coaches, on each athlete's Templates page.

    Open Templates
  84. Back from an activity returns where you came from

The back link on an activity now takes you to the page you opened it from, such as the calendar month you were viewing, Rider telemetry, Gear Architect or an athlete's calendar when coaching, and is labelled accordingly.

  85. Strava history import fixed

Some Strava connections imported only part of the chosen history, leaving a gap between the oldest and the most recent rides. That is fixed, and affected connections are re-checked automatically: the missing rides are imported newest first in the background. Rides you already have are not duplicated.

    Open settings
  86. Run several templates at once

In the template picker on an activity, tick the checkbox next to any number of templates and run them all with one click. Results are added to the activity just like single runs.

  87. Track rides with multiple gears

Activities now have a ride type (road or track; set a default in Settings). Track rides can carry several gears with notes, and you can assign a gear to time segments with a slider over the power, cadence and speed chart. Fixed-gear speed and PB Vault prefill follow the gear in use, and your coach can see and edit ride type and gears. Existing rides are unchanged and count as road.

    Open settings
  88. One gear input everywhere

Chainring and cog now use the same two-field input on every screen, with a live ratio, gear inches and development readout.

    • The preset dropdown in "Edit activity" is gone; type any gear you ride.
    • Gear stays optional: leave it empty and nothing is assumed or saved. New uploads and imports start from your saved default gear only if you set one.

  90. Faster athlete pages for coaches

The Templates, Activities, Calendar and Personal Bests pages of an athlete you coach now start loading right away instead of waiting for the athlete check, and the Templates page needs one request instead of two.

    Open coach dashboard
  91. Email confirmation and notification emails

New accounts now confirm their email address with a link we send at sign-up.

You also get an email when you have a new unread notification, such as a new follower or a comment.

    Open settings
  92. Choose whether to get notification emails

You can now turn notification emails (new followers, comments and mentions) on or off in your settings.

    Open settings
  93. Cleaner All-time line on the power profile

The All-time series on your power profile radar is now a thin, solid 1px line without dots, so it no longer dominates the chart.

  94. Template runs on your feed cards

Activities you ran a template on now show a small 🧩 badge. Click it to see each run's template name, average power and normalized power.

  95. Bigger rider avatars and clearer dates

Activity cards now show the rider's avatar over the hero image, a calendar tile and a friendly date ("Today · 07:30"). The activity page header got the same treatment, with the back link moved above it.

  96. All-time is now clearly visible on the power profile

The All-time line on the Power profile chart is now a dashed, high-contrast outline with dots, drawn above the Last 90 days area, so it no longer hides behind it. The W / W/kg toggle also uses the shared tab style.

  97. Clearer runs pop-up and power graph

The template runs pop-up on activity cards is now fully opaque and opens above the badge, so it no longer mixes with the stats below. The power graph labels no longer collide with badges or the rider avatar.

  98. Rider avatar position fixed on feed cards

The rider avatar on feed cards now sits correctly over the bottom-left edge of the hero image instead of leaving a gap above the rider name.

  99. Notifications now take you to the request

Follow and coaching notifications are now clickable. Follow requests open your pending requests on the Riders page, coaching invitations open Settings → Coaching, and new followers open their profile.

Repeated follow/unfollow no longer floods you with duplicate notifications.

    Open follow requests
  100. Clearer tabs on the feed and Riders pages

The My sessions / Following switch and the Riders tabs are now a single segmented control: the active tab is a raised orange pill and inactive tabs are easy to read in light and dark mode, with hover and keyboard focus states.

  101. Bigger power profile chart

The power profile radar on the dashboard now uses the full width of its card, so it is larger and easier to read.

  102. Zoom into the activity graph

Drag across the Activity graph to zoom into that part of the ride; click to return to the full view.

    • All stacked lanes (speed, power, cadence, torque) zoom together, and the axis labels follow.
    • Works with touch as well as mouse.
    • Switching between Time and Distance resets the zoom.
  103. Template syntax: Nx, tolerance, hours and nested groups

Writing templates got easier. The template syntax guide has the details.

    • Optional tolerance: ±10% is no longer required. Left out it means ±0%.
    • Hours: use h for long steps, for example work 2h @ Z2.
    • Optional repeat prefix: a line like 6x starts a repeated group, and a group can be closed with end.
    • Nested groups: a repeated group can contain another group, up to 3 levels.

  104. Planned workouts

    Plan training on the Calendar.

    • Create a workout from one of your templates, or write the structure yourself in the template syntax. A live chart previews it.
    • A planned workout is linked to the ride you did on the same day, and shows as completed, skipped or missed.
    • Coaches can plan workouts for their athletes.

  105. Personal Best and data fixes

    • Your own pages (Personal Best Vault, templates, stats, search) now only show your data, even if you also coach other riders.
    • Strava rides now include heart rate, and existing rides were repaired.
    • Sending an effort from a template run to the PB Vault pre-fills the personal best.
    Open the PB Vault
  106. Live comments and unread dots

Comments on activities now appear instantly while you have the activity open.

    • Feed cards show an orange dot when a thread has new comments.
    • Coaches see "new comments" per athlete on the coach dashboard.
    Open your feed
  107. Push planned workouts to Intervals.icu

Planned workouts can be sent to your Intervals.icu calendar, so they show up on your head unit.

    • Push or update a single workout from the planned workout dialog, or switch on automatic push in your connection settings.
    • A coach who plans your workouts can push them to your calendar too, without ever seeing your API key.
    Connection settings
  108. Coaching mode

Any account can now coach, or be coached.

    • Invite a rider as your athlete, or ask someone to be your coach. A rider has one active coach, and accepting is the consent.
    • Coaches see the athlete's activities, templates and Personal Bests, and can edit their FTP, weight and training settings. Edits are labelled set by coach and the rider is notified.
    • Open Coach dashboard from the user menu to see your athletes. The rider can end coaching at any time.
    Open coaching settings
  109. Races on your calendar

Add a race or event to a day on your Calendar with a priority (A, B or C), discipline, time and location.

After the race, link the ride that was the race. Your coach can add and edit races on your calendar too.

    Add a race
  110. Calendar notes

Add a short note to any day in your Calendar: sickness, travel, a reminder, a race plan.

Riders and their active coach can both read and write notes, and notes written by a coach are labelled.

    Open the calendar
  111. Support Velocity Stack with a coffee

Velocity Stack is an independent project built by a track cyclist, with no ads. If it helped you win a race or set a new PB, you can chip in towards development and hosting costs with a coffee. It is entirely optional.
